In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Hudson Pirates volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Marshalltown Bobcats.

The Pirates (16-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Dike-New Hartford (Dike, IA). The Wolverines enter the challenge with a 11-9 record. In their last challenge, Dike-New Hartford was beaten by Denver (Denver, IA), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Bobcats meet the Mason City Mohawks (Mason City, IA) in a Southeast challenge, on Tuesday, September 24. Marshalltown will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Mohawks enter the challenge with a 1-16 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Janesville (Janesville, IA).
