The Calallen Wildcats (Corpus Christi, TX) football defeated the visiting Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX), 28-7 in Friday's league bout.
In their next game, the Wildcats face the King Brahmas (Kingsville, TX) in a 4A-1 Region IV District 16 bout, on Friday, September 29. Calallen will attempt to advance on its 3-1 season record. The Brahmas enter the bout with a 2-3 record after their 14-12 league loss to Tuloso-Midway (Corpus Christi, TX).
The Hawks (3-2) will now prepare for their bout against Hidalgo (Hidalgo, TX). The Pirates enter the 4A-1 Region IV District 16 bout with a 0-4 record. In their last bout, Hidalgo lost by Raymondville (Raymondville, TX), 39-12, in a non-league bout.
