The Central DeWitt football team (DeWitt, IA), was beaten 39-13 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA)

The Mustangs (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Wahlert (Dubuque, IA). The Golden Eagles come into the 3A District 3 challenge with a 3-2 record. In their last challenge, Wahlert achieved victory over Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA), 36-14, in a league challenge.

The now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Maquoketa for a 3A District 3 challenge on Friday, September 29. Central DeWitt will meet a Cardinals team coming off a 28-0 league loss to West Delaware (Manchester, IA). The Cardinals record now stands at 3-2.
