Illinois High School Football - Clifton Central gets by Watseka

September 22, 2023: Watseka, IL 60970

The Clifton Central Comets football squad scored 13 points and restricted the host Watseka Warriors to 12 in the Comets league victory on Friday.

The Comets now possess a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Westville for a Vermilion Valley battle on Friday, September 29. Clifton Central will play a Tigers squad coming off a 49-28 league win over Oakwood (Fithian, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 4-1.

Coming up next, the Warriors play the Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils (Bismarck, IL) in a Vermilion Valley battle, on Friday, September 29. Watseka will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Blue Devils go into the contest with a 3-2 record after their 14-13 league loss to Salt Fork (Sidell, IL).
