The Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY) football defeated the host Lincoln County Patriots (Stanford, KY), 29-7 in Friday's non-league bout.
In their next game, the Briar Jumpers face the Breathitt County Bobcats (Jackson, KY) in a 2A District 6 bout, on Friday, September 29. Somerset will attempt to advance on its 4-2 season record. The Bobcats enter the bout with a 2-4 record after their 25-21 non-league loss to Letcher County Central (Whitesburg, KY).
The Patriots (3-3) will now prepare for their bout against Wayne County (Monticello, KY). The Cardinals enter the 4A District 7 bout with a 5-1 record. In their last bout, Wayne County lost by Taylor County (Campbellsville, KY), 50-14, in a league bout.
