The Reed-Custer Comets football team (Braidwood, IL), was beaten 35-14 in Saturday's league challenge with the host Wilmington Wildcats (Wilmington, IL)

The Wildcats (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Herscher (Herscher, IL). The Tigers come into the Illinois Central Eight challenge with a 1-4 record. In their last challenge, Herscher achieved victory over Streator (Streator, IL), 27-12, in a league challenge.

The Comets now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Coal City for a Illinois Central Eight challenge on Friday, September 29. Reed-Custer will meet a Coalers team coming off a 48-7 league win over Peotone (Peotone, IL). The Coalers record now stands at 4-1.
