Campbell Spartans (Smyrna, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lanier Longhorns (Sugar Hill, GA), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 9-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alcovy for a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 23. Campbell will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 7-0 league win over Mundy's Mill (Jonesboro, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 14-8.

With the loss, Lanier falls to 4-14 on the campaign. The Longhorns host North Forsyth (Cumming, GA) to battle the Raiders in a 6A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, September 26. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 14-7. North Forsyth won 17-1 in their recent league challenge against Gainesville (Gainesville, GA)
