Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they witnessed their soccer team beat the visiting Southmoreland Scotties (Alverton, PA), 4-0 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Hempfield Area moves its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA) to clash with the Knights in a non-league test on Thursday, September 25. The Knights come into the test with a record of 5-5. Norwin lost 2-1 in their recent non-league test against Fox Chapel (Pittsburgh, PA)

The Scotties now sport a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Charleroi for a non-league outing on Tuesday, September 23. Southmoreland will confront a Cougars squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, PA). The Cougars record now stands at 6-3.
