Portland Christian Royals (Portland, OR) boosters were pleased Monday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Corbett Cardinals (Corbett, OR), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Royals (7-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Gaston (Gaston, OR). The Greyhounds come into the 2A Northwest challenge with a 5-7 record. In their last challenge, Gaston beat Columbia Christian (Portland, OR), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals meet the Yamhill-Carlton Tigers (Yamhill, OR) in a 3A Coastal Range test, on Wednesday, September 24. Corbett will attempt to advance on its 4-6 season record. The Tigers go into the test with a 5-6 record after their 3-1 league loss to Rainier (Rainier, OR).
