The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Burges Mustangs (El Paso, TX) and the host Jefferson Silver Foxes (El Paso, TX), observed Burges's football squad edge Jefferson by a tally of 28-22.

The Mustangs now possess a 3-2 record. They play next when they host Bowie for a 5A-2 Region I District 2 contest on Friday, October 1. Burges will play a Bears squad coming off a 52-22 league loss to Andress (El Paso, TX). The Bears record now stands at 0-5.

Coming up next, the Silver Foxes play the Irvin Rockets (El Paso, TX) in a 5A-2 Region I District 2 contest, on Friday, October 1. Jefferson will attempt to advance on its 3-2 season record. The Rockets go into the contest with a 2-3 record after their 41-35 league loss to El Paso (El Paso, TX).
