The Ariton Purple Cats (Ariton, AL) football defeated the host Straughn Tigers (Andalusia, AL), 28-14 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Purple Cats face the Cottonwood Bears (Cottonwood, AL) in a 2A Region 2 bout, on Friday, September 30. Ariton will attempt to advance on its 5-1 season record. The Bears enter the bout with a 3-2 record after their 56-6 non-league win over Graceville (Graceville, FL).

The Tigers (5-1) will now prepare for their bout against Houston Academy (Dothan, AL). The Raiders enter the 3A Region 2 bout with a 5-0 record. In their last bout, Houston Academy defeated Abbeville (Abbeville, AL), 41-0, in a non-league bout.
