The Edwards County Lions football team (Albion, IL), was knocked off 20-7 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Vienna/Goreville Eagles (Vienna, IL)
The Eagles (1-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Johnston City (Johnston City, IL). The Indians come into the Black Diamond challenge with a 5-0 record. In their last challenge, Johnston City knocked off Flora (Flora, IL), 43-15, in a league challenge.
The Lions now sport a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they host Carmi-White County for a Black Diamond challenge on Friday, September 30. Edwards County will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 38-12 league win over Fairfield (Fairfield, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-0.
