The Fernley Vaqueros football team (Fernley, NV), was tipped 41-39 in Friday's league challenge with the host Spring Creek Spartans (Spring Creek, NV)

The Spartans (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Churchill County (Fallon, NV). The Greenwave come into the 3A Northern - East challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Churchill County nipped Dayton (Dayton, NV), 1-0, in a league challenge.

The Vaqueros now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host Elko for a 3A Northern - East challenge on Friday, September 30. Fernley will meet a Indians team coming off a 46-7 league win over Lowry (Winnemucca, NV). The Indians record now stands at 5-1.
