In Friday's league match, the visiting West Point Green Wave football squad scored a good 59-35 victory over the Lafayette Commodores.

In their next game, the Green Wave clash with the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) in a 5A Region 1 match, on Friday, September 30. West Point will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Trojans enter the match with a 2-2 record after their 8-3 league loss to Columbus (Columbus, MS).

The Commodores (1-4) will now prepare for their match against Saltillo (Saltillo, MS). The Tigers enter the 5A Region 1 match with a 2-3 record. In their last match, Saltillo thwarted Cleveland Central (Cleveland, MS), 28-27, in a league match.
