The Walnut Wildcats football team (Walnut, MS), was beaten 38-16 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Marshall Academy Patriots (Holly Springs, MS)
The Patriots (4-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Lee Academy (Clarksdale, MS). The Colts come into the MAIS 4A District 1 challenge with a 5-1 record. In their last challenge, Lee Academy knocked off Rossville Christian Academy (Rossville, TN), 56-8, in a non-league challenge.
The Wildcats now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Baldwyn for a 2A Region 1 challenge on Friday, September 30. Walnut will meet a Bearcats team coming off a 63-0 non-league win over Alcorn Central (Glen, MS). The Bearcats record now stands at 4-1.
