In Friday's league game, the Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) football team knocked off the host South Creek Cougars (Robersonville, NC), by a score of 22-6.
The Pirates (1-5) will now prepare for their game against Riverside-Martin (Williamston, NC). The Knights come into the 1A East Conference 2 game with a 6-0 record. In their last game, Riverside-Martin toppled Washington County (Plymouth, NC), 41-20, in a league game.
The Cougars now sport a 0-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bertie for a 1A East Conference 2 game on Friday, September 30. South Creek will battle a Falcons team coming off a 53-0 league loss to Tarboro (Tarboro, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 1-4.
