The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Southern Nash Firebirds (Bailey, NC) and the host Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets (Roanoke Rapids, NC), observed Southern Nash's football squad defeat Roanoke Rapids by a count of 42-14.

The Firebirds now own a 5-1 record. They play next when they host Bunn for a 2A/3A East Conference 17 contest on Friday, October 7.

Coming up next, the Yellowjackets encounter the Northern Nash Knights (Rocky Mount, NC) in a 2A/3A East Conference 17 contest, on Thursday, September 29.
