The Sundown Roughnecks football team (Sundown, TX), was tipped 29-26 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Roosevelt Eagles (Lubbock, TX)
The Eagles (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Stanton (Stanton, TX). The Buffaloes come into the 3A-2 Region I District 4 challenge with a 2-3 record. In their last challenge, Stanton nipped San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy (San Angelo, TX), 35-14, in a non-league challenge.
The Roughnecks now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Floydada for a 2A-1 Region I District 2 challenge on Friday, October 7. Sundown will meet a Whirlwinds team coming off a 13-7 non-league loss to Hale Center (Hale Center, TX). The Whirlwinds record now stands at 3-2.
