The crowd at Friday's non-league test between the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) and the visiting Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC), saw Sun Valley's soccer squad triumph over Union Academy by a count of 5-0.

The Spartans now hold a 8-2 record. They play next when they travel to Marvin Ridge for a Southern Carolina 4A test on Monday, September 26. Sun Valley will meet a Mavericks squad coming off a 1-0 league loss to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Mavericks record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Union Academy drops to 7-2 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC) to meet the Tigers in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A test on Monday, September 26. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 5-7. Mount Pleasant won 5-0 in their recent league test against North Stanly (New London, NC)
