The Joplin Eagles softball team scored 14 runs and limited the visiting Smithville Warriors to 7 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Joplin improves its record to 10-9 on the year. The Eagles travel to Neosho (Neosho, MO) to clash with the Wildcats in a Class 4 District 12 game on Tuesday, September 26. The Wildcats come into the game with a record of 20-5. Neosho won 12-1 in their recent non-league game against Cassville (Cassville, MO)

In their next game, the Warriors clash with the Excelsior Springs Tigers (Excelsior Springs, MO) in a non-league game, on Monday, September 25. Smithville will attempt to improve on its 6-12 season record. The Tigers come into the game with a 5-12 record after their 15-5 non-league win over Oak Park (Kansas City, MO).
