In a commanding display of teamwork and skill, the Richard Montgomery Rockets continued their impressive start to the season, sweeping the Wheaton Knights 3-0 (25-8, 25-19, 25-15). This victory marks the Rockets’ fifth consecutive win, despite being without reigning MoCo Player of the Year Ema Djordjevic, who was sidelined due to illness.
The Rockets quickly asserted their dominance, overwhelming the Knights with precise attacks. Senior opposite/setter Amy Ye showcased her versatility, not only facilitating the offense with 14 assists but also contributing defensively with 13 digs, 5 kills, 3 aces, and a block.
Corinne Howard, the senior outside hitter/middle blocker, led the offensive charge with 13 kills (.550 hitting %). Freshman Katie Mitchell also made her mark, finishing with 8 kills, while her sister junior Ellie finished with 4.
