New Smyrna Beach Barracudas (New Smyrna Beach, FL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the visiting Montverde Academy Eagles (Montverde, FL), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Barracudas (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Mandarin (Jacksonville, FL). The Mustangs go into the non-league game with a 2-4 record. In their last game, Mandarin was edged by Christ's Church Academy (Jacksonville, FL), 2-0, in a non-league game.

The Eagles (8-7) will now prepare for their game against Winter Haven (Winter Haven, FL). The Blue Devils come into the non-league outing with a 6-4 record. In their last outing, Winter Haven edged Lake Wales (Lake Wales, FL), 2-0, in a non-league outing.
