Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL) fans were thrilled Saturday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL), 5-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Maroons face the Peoria Notre Dame Irish (Peoria, IL) in a Big Twelve challenge, on Tuesday, September 27. Champaign Central will attempt to better on its 13-1 season record. The Irish enter the challenge with a 12-1 record after their 4-0 league win over Richwoods (Peoria, IL).

The Pioneers now have a 6-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sacred Heart-Griffin for a Central State Eight challenge on Tuesday, September 27. Normal University will face a Cyclones team coming off a 4-0 non-league win over Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL). The Cyclones record now stands at 16-1.
