Somerton Toros (Somerton, AZ) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they observed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Calipatria Hornets (Calipatria, CA), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Toros (6-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Kofa (Yuma, AZ). The Kings enter the non-league challenge with a 2-7 record. In their last challenge, Kofa was defeated by Browne (Phoenix, AZ), 3-0, in a non-league test.

The Hornets now own a 8-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Palo Verde Valley for a Desert test on Thursday, September 25.
