The Jones Trojans football team (Trenton, NC), was beaten 36-8 in Monday's non-league challenge with the visiting Union Spartans (Rose Hill, NC)
The Spartans (2-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Lakewood (Roseboro, NC). The Leopards come into the Carolina 1A challenge with a 5-1 record. In their last challenge, Lakewood achieved victory over North Johnston (Kenly, NC), 28-8, in a non-league challenge.
The Trojans now sport a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lejeune for a 1A/2A Coastal Plains challenge on Friday, September 29. Jones will meet a Devil Pups team coming off a 63-20 non-league loss to North Duplin (Calypso, NC). The Devil Pups record now stands at 1-3.
