Pewaukee Pirates (Pewaukee, WI) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Pius XI Catholic Popes (Milwaukee, WI), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Pirates confront the West Allis Central Bulldogs (West Allis, WI) in a Woodland challenge, on Wednesday, September 27. Pewaukee will attempt to better on its 7-1 season record. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 7-0 league loss to New Berlin Eisenhower (New Berlin, WI).

The Popes now have a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they host St. Thomas More for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 29.
