In Wednesday's league outing, the host Cheverus Stags soccer squad scored a tight 3-2 victory over the Thornton Academy Trojans.

The Stags (3-4) will now prepare for their outing against Westbrook (Westbrook, ME). The Blue Blazes go into the Class A - South outing with a 3-4 record. In their last outing, Westbrook got by Massabesic (Waterboro, ME), 4-0, in a league outing.

Next up, the Trojans play the Deering Rams (Portland, ME) in a Class A - South outing, on Friday, September 27. Thornton Academy will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Rams go into the outing with a 3-3 record after their 2-1 league win over Biddeford (Biddeford, ME).
