The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Sauquoit Valley Indians (Sauquoit, NY) and the visiting Cooperstown Hawkeyes (Cooperstown, NY), witnessed Sauquoit Valley's football squad knock off Cooperstown by a tally of 40-20.
The Indians (3-1) will now prepare for their bout against Frankfort-Schuyler (Frankfort, NY). The Maroon Knights go into the Section 3 8-Man - East (8 Man) bout with a 4-0 record. In their last bout, Frankfort-Schuyler beat Waterville (Waterville, NY), 50-27, in a league bout.
The Hawkeyes now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they host West Canada Valley for a Section 3 8-Man - East (8 Man) contest on Friday, October 3. Cooperstown will confront a Nighthawks squad coming off a 36-18 league win over New York Mills (New York Mills, NY). The Nighthawks record now stands at 3-0.
