Texas High School Football - Franklin triumphant over Coronado

September 25, 2025: El Paso, TX 79912

The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Franklin Cougars (El Paso, TX) and the visiting Coronado Thunderbirds (El Paso, TX), witnessed Franklin's football squad wallop Coronado by a tally of 59-7.

The Cougars (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Montwood (El Paso, TX). The Rams enter the 6A Region I District 1 contest with a 0-5 record. In their last contest, Montwood was trounced by Eastlake (El Paso, TX), 61-47, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Thunderbirds battle the Pebble Hills Spartans (El Paso, TX) in a 6A Region I District 1 contest, on Friday, October 3. Coronado will attempt to better on its 1-4 season record. The Spartans enter the contest with a 3-1 record after their 42-17 non-league loss to Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM).
