In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Geneseo Maple Leafs volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Rock Island Rocks.

The Maple Leafs (1-2) will now prepare for their test against Sterling (Sterling, IL). The Golden Warriors go into the non-league outing with a 0-2 record.

With the loss, Rock Island drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Rocks travel to Quincy (Quincy, IL) to face the Blue Devils in a game on Tuesday, September 30. The Blue Devils go into the game with a record of 8-2.
