Tuscola Mountaineers (Waynesville, NC) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), 22-12 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Tuscola advances its record to 6-0 on the season. The Mountaineers host Franklin (Franklin, NC) to play the Panthers in a battle on Thursday, October 2. The Panthers go into the battle with a record of 4-1. Franklin lost 14-7 in their recent non-league battle against Pisgah (Canton, NC)

The Mustangs now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Brevard for a non-league match on Thursday, October 2.
