Sayre Spartans (Lexington, KY) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Nicholas County Bluejackets (Carlisle, KY), 42-0 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Sayre advances its record to 5-0 on the season. The Spartans host Bourbon County (Paris, KY) to play the Colonels in a non-league battle on Friday, October 4. The Colonels go into the battle with a record of 0-5. Bourbon County lost 38-34 in their recent non-league battle against Harrison County (Cynthiana, KY)

The Bluejackets now own a 3-3 record. They play next when they host Fairview for a 1A District 6 battle on Friday, October 4.
