Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Poplar Bluff Mules (Poplar Bluff, MO) and the host Sikeston Bulldogs (Sikeston, MO), saw Poplar Bluff's soccer squad hold off Sikeston by a count of 2-1.

The Mules (5-3) will now prepare for their battle against Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau, MO). The Bulldogs enter the Southeast Missouri battle with a 0-6 record. In their last battle, Notre Dame was edged by McCracken County (Paducah, KY), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Bulldogs battle the Jackson Fighting Indians (Jackson, MO) in a Southeast Missouri battle, on Monday, September 30. Sikeston will attempt to upgrade on its 8-2 season record. The Fighting Indians enter the battle with a 5-3 record after their 5-1 non-league win over Perryville (Perryville, MO).
