In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Derby Red Raiders volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Whitney RVT Owls.

The Red Raiders (3-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Wolcott (Wolcott, CT). The Eagles come into the Naugatuck Valley challenge with a 4-3 record. In their last challenge, Wolcott edged Ansonia (Ansonia, CT), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Owls play the Wright Tech Warriors (Stamford, CT) in a Connecticut Technical challenge, on Friday, September 27. Whitney RVT will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Prince RVT (Hartford, CT).
