Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks (Grand Rapids, MN) and the host Marshall Hilltoppers (Duluth, MN), observed Grand Rapids's volleyball team top Marshall by a count of 3-0.

The Thunderhawks (12-6) will now prepare for their contest against Hermantown (Hermantown, MN). The Hawks enter the Lake Superior contest with a 9-0 record.

Next, the Hilltoppers meet the Hibbing Bluejackets (Hibbing, MN) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, September 28. Marshall will attempt to move on its 0-9 season record. The Bluejackets enter the contest with a 0-11 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Superior (Superior, WI).
