In Thursday's league challenge, the host Oscar Smith Tigers volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Lakeland Cavaliers.

The Tigers (4-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA). The Bruins enter the Southeastern challenge with a 6-6 record. In their last challenge, Western Branch was beaten by Hickory (Chesapeake, VA), 3-2, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cavaliers meet the Franklin Broncos (Franklin, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, September 30. Lakeland will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Broncos enter the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 3-0 league loss to Greensville County (Emporia, VA).
