Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Nokomis Redskins (Nokomis, IL) and the visiting Tri-City Tornadoes (Buffalo, IL), observed Nokomis's volleyball team top Tri-City by a count of 2-0.

The Redskins (17-3) will now prepare for their contest against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL). The Hiltoppers enter the non-league contest with a 11-7 record. In their last contest, Hillsboro notched a victory over Vandalia (Vandalia, IL), 2-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Tornadoes battle the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals (Warrensburg, IL) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, October 2. Tri-City will attempt to move on its 2-15 season record. The Cardinals enter the contest with a 13-11 record after their 2-0 league win over Tuscola (Tuscola, IL).
