Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Southside Southerners (Batesville, AR) and the visiting Pocahontas Redskins (Pocahontas, AR), observed Southside's volleyball team hold off Pocahontas by a count of 3-2.

The Southerners (5-4) will now prepare for their contest against Batesville (Batesville, AR). The Pioneers enter the non-league contest with a 5-5 record.

Next, the Redskins battle the Trumann Wildcats (Trumann, AR) in a 4A 3 contest, on Thursday, October 3. Pocahontas will attempt to move on its 12-3 season record.
