Texas High School Football - Sterling holds off Ball

September 26, 2025: Galveston, TX 77550

The Sterling Rangers football squad scored 21 points and limited the host Ball Tornadoes to 20 in the Rangers league victory on Friday.

In their next game, the Rangers face the Barbers Hill Eagles (Mt. Belvieu, TX) in a 5A-1 Region III District 9 game, on Thursday, October 2. Sterling will attempt to improve on its 4-1 season record. The Eagles enter the game with a 4-1 record after their 35-7 league win over Lufkin (Lufkin, TX).

The Tornadoes (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Port Arthur Memorial (Port Arthur, TX). The Titans enter the 5A-1 Region III District 9 game with a 5-0 record. In their last game, Port Arthur Memorial held off Beaumont United (Beaumont, TX), 62-0, in a league game.
