The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA) and the visiting Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA), witnessed Benton's football squad wallop Charles City by a tally of 41-7.

The Bobcats (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against Clear Lake (Clear Lake, IA). The Lions enter the 3A District 2 contest with a 5-0 record. In their last contest, Clear Lake crushed Independence (Independence, IA), 43-0, in a league bout.

The Comets now own a 3-2 record. They play next when they host Iowa Falls-Alden for a 3A District 2 bout on Friday, October 3. Charles City will encounter a Cadets team coming off a 48-18 league loss to West Delaware (Manchester, IA). The Cadets record now stands at 2-3.
