The Mattoon Greenwave football team (Mattoon, IL), was tipped 37-35 in Friday's league bout with the visiting Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL)

With the win, Charleston advances its record to 1-4 on the season. The Trojans travel to Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL) to encounter the Braves in a Apollo bout on Friday, October 3. The Braves enter the contest with a record of 4-1. Mt. Zion won 35-23 in their recent league contest against Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL)

Coming up next, the Greenwave battle the Taylorville Tornadoes (Taylorville, IL) in a Apollo contest, on Friday, October 3. Mattoon will attempt to better on its 1-4 season record. The Tornadoes enter the contest with a 2-3 record after their 28-21 league win over Effingham (Effingham, IL).
