Rhode Island High School Football - Cumberland nudges Reading Memorial

September 26, 2025: Cumberland, RI 02864

In Friday's league match, the host Cumberland Clippers football squad scored a close 14-13 triumph over the Reading Memorial Rockets.

The Clippers (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against Cranston West (Cranston, RI). The Falcons go into the Division I battle with a 1-3 record. In their last match, Cranston West was nudged by St. Raphael Academy (Pawtucket, RI), 32-27, in a league battle.

The Rockets now have a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Arlington for a Middlesex - Liberty battle on Friday, October 3. Reading Memorial will play a Spy Ponders team coming off a 39-8 non-league loss to Silver Lake Regional (Kingston, MA). The Spy Ponders record now stands at 1-2.
