The Draughn Wildcats football team (Valdese, NC), dropped 31-0 in Friday's league bout with the host Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC)

With the win, Patton advances its record to 1-4 on the season. The Panthers travel to R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC) to encounter the Hilltoppers in a Western Piedmont 3A/4A bout on Friday, October 3. The Hilltoppers go into the bout with a record of 2-3. R-S Central won 42-7 in their recent league bout against Chase (Forest City, NC)

The Wildcats now own a 0-5 record. They play next when they travel to East Rutherford for a Western Piedmont 3A/4A bout on Friday, October 3. Draughn will confront a Cavaliers squad coming off a 30-0 league win over West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 4-1.
