West Virginia High School Football - Fairmont Senior thwarted by University

September 26, 2025: Morgantown, WV 26508

University Hawks (Morgantown, WV) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Fairmont Senior Polar Bears (Fairmont, WV), 37-28 in a non-league battle.

With the win, University advances its record to 4-1 on the season. The Hawks travel to Butler (Butler, PA) to play the Golden Tornado in a non-league battle on Friday, October 3. The Golden Tornado go into the battle with a record of 4-2. Butler won 44-27 in their recent league battle against Connellsville (Connellsville, PA)

The Polar Bears now own a 3-1 record. They play next when they host Buckhannon-Upshur for a Big Ten match on Friday, October 3. Fairmont Senior will confront a Buccaneers squad coming off a 57-29 league loss to Elkins (Elkins, WV). The Buccaneers record now stands at 0-4.
