The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Goddard Rockets (Roswell, NM) and the visiting Gadsden Panthers (Anthony, NM), witnessed Goddard's football squad edge Gadsden by a tally of 28-27.

The Rockets (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Deming (Deming, NM). The Wildcats go into the 5A District 2 bout with a 0-6 record. In their last bout, Deming was tipped by Mayfield (Las Cruces, NM), 55-35, in a league bout.

The Panthers now own a 4-2 record. They play next when they host Roswell for a 5A District 2 bout on Friday, October 3. Gadsden will battle a Coyotes squad coming off a 54-0 league win over Santa Teresa (Santa Teresa, NM). The Coyotes record now stands at 4-2.
