Gold Beach Panthers (Gold Beach, OR) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they observed their football squad top the host Rogue River Chieftains (Rogue River, OR), 52-28 in a non-league test.

The Panthers now hold a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Myrtle Point for a 2A Special District 4 (9 Man) test on Friday, October 3. Gold Beach will meet a Bobcats squad coming off a 74-0 non-league win over Waldport (Waldport, OR). The Bobcats record now stands at 3-1.

With the defeat, Rogue River moves to 1-3 on the season. The Chieftains host St. Mary's (Medford, OR) to play the Crusaders in a 2A Special District 5 (9 Man) challenge on Friday, October 3. The Crusaders go into the challenge with a record of 0-4. St. Mary's lost 32-13 in their recent non-league test against Brookings-Harbor (Brookings, OR)
