In Friday's non-league match, the host Piedmont Academy Cougars football team scored a big 57-14 win over the Heritage Hawks.
With the win, Piedmont Academy improves its record to 4-2 on the season. The Cougars host George Walton Academy (Monroe, GA) to play the Bulldogs in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 4 battle on Friday, October 3. The Bulldogs go into the battle with a record of 7-0. George Walton Academy won 35-7 in their recent league battle against Loganville Christian Academy (Loganville, GA)
The Hawks now have a 1-6 record. They play next when they travel to Central Fellowship Christian Academy for a GIAA AA/A District 1 battle on Friday, October 10. Heritage will play a Lancers team coming off a 27-14 non-league win over Trinity Christian (Dublin, GA). The Lancers record now stands at 3-4.
