New Jersey High School Football - High Point nudges Newton

The crowd at Friday's league contest between the High Point Wildcats (Sussex, NJ) and the host Newton Braves (Newton, NJ), witnessed High Point's football squad edge Newton by a count of 35-33.

The Wildcats (5-0) will now prepare for their contest against Vernon (Vernon, NJ). The Vikings enter the non-league contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Vernon was nudged by Sparta (Sparta, NJ), 34-20, in a league battle.

The Braves now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they host Jefferson Township for a non-league battle on Friday, October 3. Newton will encounter a Falcons team coming off a 48-26 non-league win over Whippany Park (Whippany, NJ). The Falcons record now stands at 1-4.
