The Union Yellowjackets football squad scored 35 points and limited the host Lake Hornets to 22 in the Yellowjackets non-league victory on Friday.
In their next game, the Yellowjackets face the Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS) in a 3A Region 5 game, on Friday, October 3. Union will attempt to improve on its 5-0 season record. The Panthers enter the game with a 2-3 record after their 20-14 non-league loss to Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS).
The Hornets (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Newton (Newton, MS). The Tigers enter the 2A Region 5 game with a 1-4 record. In their last outing, Newton was defeated by Leake County (Walnut Grove, MS), 46-16, in a non-league outing.
