    • Illinois High School Football - Mater Dei can't hold off Macomb

    September 26, 2025: Breese, IL 62230

    The Macomb Bombers football squad scored 41 points and limited the host Mater Dei Knights to 35 in the Bombers non-league triumph on Friday.

    The Bombers now hold a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they host Farmington for a Lincoln Trail-Prairieland - Large test on Friday, October 3. Macomb will meet a Farmers squad coming off a 54-23 league win over Knoxville (Knoxville, IL). The Farmers record now stands at 5-0.

    With the defeat, Mater Dei drops to 1-4 on the campaign. The Knights host Miller Career Academy/Vashon/Sumner (St. Louis, MO) to meet the Phoenix in a non-league test on Friday, October 3. The Phoenix go into the challenge with a record of 2-3. Miller Career Academy/Vashon/Sumner won 38-24 in their recent non-league challenge against Lutheran (St. Peters, MO)
